NSHA Gives SSG 24-Hours To Release Hilux Vehicles To TSC *** COMMITTEE of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) on Education has directed the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) to release the two (2) hilux vehicles approved and purchased for the state Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to them within 24-hours. The Chairman of the committee, Mr Daniel Ogah Ogazi gave the directive when the office of the SSG, Head of Service and management of Teachers Service Commission (TSC) appeared before the Committee in Lafia on Monday. Ogazi also directed the TSC to report the House on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 by 10:00am prompt (WAT) whether they have received or not the vehicles as directed by the Committee. According to him, releasing the hilux vehicles to the Commission would ensure effective service delivery and boost teachers productivity. “During the budget defense of the Teachers’ Service Commission, we learnt that the Three Hilux vehicles approved by His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule and purchased for TSC, two were not given to the TSC. “And we have directed that the two vehicles should be given to them for effective service delivery and we learnt that up to this moment the vehicles were not given to the TSC as directed. “Mr Speaker has also directed us that we should find a lasting solution to the matter at hand,” he said. Ogazi said that the office of the SSG accepted that the allocated vehicles to the office of the SSG was wrongly done. “That the memo written to His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule that the edict establising TSC do not include supervision and monitoring of teachers was wrongly quoted by the office of the SSG,” he said. The Chairman said that it was wrong that the vehicles meant for TSC were not given to them instead was kept in SSG’s office. Also speaking, Ms Abigail Waya, the Head of Service (HOS) while speaking on the matter said that nothing was wrong in giving TSC the two vehicles. She added that it would enable the Commission to discharge their duties without hitches. On his part, Alhaji Abubakar Gada, the Chairman, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) confirmed the non-release of the Two vehicles to the commission by the office of the SSG as directed by the committee. “As I am speaking, the Two Hilux vehicles were not given to us as directed by you,” he said. A Permanent Secretary from the office of the SSG who stood in for his boss admitted that the vehicles were in their possession and promised to do the needful.
